Fixby win at Fartown
Fixby Primary school claimed the Fartown Cluster Sports Hall Athletics title for 2009 with a close run competition at Fartown High School. Fixby were up against four local competitors from rival schools and proved too strong in the end winning the competition by 18pts. The format of the competition has changed this year from previous years with more children being involved. Despite the convincing victory it was Christ Church Woodhouse who dominated the girl’s track events, but Fixby showed great versatility in winning most of the field events and boys track events. The event hosted over 100children from local Primary schools and was supported by Fartown High School and their PE department. Young leaders from the school helped to run the event and Senior Management were on hand to award certificates. Well done to Fixby and everyone involved.
